Done And Dusted.

I made the mistake of venturing amongst the market crowds today.
At least people were in a festive mood, many decked out in their Christmas red sweaters and twinkling necklaces hung around their necks.
I'm finally finished with my shopping, and couldn't wait to return home, indulge in a shortbread biscuit or two and a nice pot of tea.
Hope everyone has a little relaxing time, before the big day.

I got out for one last gift this morning before it was total mayhem and have been eating/decorating iced sugar cookies today. But, I like Walker's shortbread too. Mine come early in the morning so I'll have to get up and going unlike my usual slow, quiet mornings.

We took out a friend for lunch and stopped to get some Christmas eve food. It was a mess with people everywhere. We had our meal at Baker's Square and next to us was Governor of Iowa and his wife with grandchildren. He is going to be the new Ambassador to China in January. He tries to be a common citizen when he it out but it is hard for him to do that. I like your special tea service. It is beautiful. Tea and shortbread would taste good right now while we have snow falling. Have a great Christmas my blogger friend.

Tea and shortbread sounds wonderful. Wish I had grown up drinking tea. It just sounds so perfect. Merry Christmas Jo.

Ughhh, having to brave the crowds right now is not something I am looking forward to, but I have one last grocery shopping to do. Enjoy your tea and treats! (I have that very same tea pot - it is the china pattern I chose when we got married). -Jenn

As we move into our less and less money life, I have found Christmas to be less and less stressful. I made more gifts this year, bottled honey, homemade jerky from our beef, wax melts from our own bees. Not less work but less time OUT THERE in the craziness. And in the end, lots more time for tea!

I wish the good moods would continue for everyone throughout the year! :-)

Jo, I have to tell you, that I never see a lovely English tea pot like the one in this post and not think of you! Thank-you for your kind comments and support this past year. I look forward to our cyber-friendship continuing in 2017!
